Subject: [sd-birds] Black-backed Woodpeckers, Sheridan Lake
Today I followed up on a recent eBird report of a Black-backed Woodpecker
along the Flume trail near Sheridan Lake (Pennington Co). The area has a
massive bark-beetle epidemic going on with the area being aggressively
logged. I haven't had luck finding the birds around the north unit of the
lake so today I tried the west side of the lake where logging hasn't
started yet. I found a pair in woods between the lake and Hwy 385. My eBird
report (https://ebird.org/checklist/S202067296) has the exact location.
