Hello Birders,
This update of Tucson Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert for Southeast
Arizona was made on November 8, 2024; the next update will be made on
November 15.
Abbreviation "m.ob." = multiple observers. An asterisk (*) preceding a
species name in the list indicates that it merits careful, full
documentation. A pound sign (#) indicates that brief corroborating details
are warranted.
Where directions are not given, they can be found in the most recent
edition of Tucson Audubon's "Finding Birds in Southeast Arizona". Note that
all hyperlinks and maps have been removed from this version because of

A *LEAST FLYCATCHER was reported at Sweetwater Wetlands on 11/7 (Steve
Nord). A #RUFOUS-BACKED ROBIN continued through 11/6 (Geoff Wyszynski), a
#GRAY CATBIRD was reported on 11/6 (Alex Patia), and a #YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER continued through 11/8 (m.ob.).
An #EASTERN PHOEBE was photographed at the intersection of Kolb and Snyder
Rds in the Catalina foothills on 11/4 (Dominic DeLaca-Wauer).
A #TENNESSEE WARBLER continued in an east Tucson yard on 11/3 (John Yerger).
A #GRAY CATBIRD was photographed at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum on
11/5 (Michael Sadat); a #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continued through 11/8
(m.ob.).
A #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continued at Columbus Park through 11/8
(m.ob.).
A #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported at Green Valley Estates on 11/8
(David Griffin).
WILLCOX & the SULPHUR SPRINGS VALLEY
A #EURASIAN WIGEON continued at the Faria Dairy pond on 11/11 (Barbara
Bickel). View from the road only.
GREEN VALLEY & the SANTA RITAS
In Madera Canyon, a #BERYLLINE HUMMINGBIRD continued at the Santa Rita
Lodge through 11/8 (Mel & Jeanne Goff). A LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH continued
between the Whitehouse Picnic Area and Madera Picnic Area on 11/8 (m.ob.).
A #PURPLE FINCH was reported at Proctor Rd on 11/2 (John Amoroso), and a
#YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was photographed on 11/2 (Lisa Coons) and
continued through 11/6 (m.ob.).
A #GRAY CATBIRD continued in a Green Valley yard on 11/4 (Rob Rutledge).
PARKER CANYON LAKE
A #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported at Parker Canyon Lake on 11/4
(David Palmer).
SIERRA VISTA & the HUACHUCAS
A #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported at the Hereford Bridge on 11/2
(Ron Beck).
A #YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported in a private yard on 11/2 (Brad &
Traci Clemens).

An #EASTERN PHOEBE continued at the Ajo STP through 11/8 (m.ob.).
