The SCVBA field trip to Sierra Vista OSP (co-led by Dori Faust) advertised *golden eagles* , and we delivered: the first eagle at around 5 minutes in, and almost never out of sight of at least one during the entire trip, from 8-11 AM. There were four eagles in all, two parents and their two recent fledglings, presumably. Other birds included white-throated swifts, all the expected icterids (western meadowlark, red-winged blackbird, brown-headed cowbird, Brewer's blackbird), red-tailed hawks, American kestrels, golden-crowned and savannah sparrows, lots of rock wrens, a couple of Say's phoebes, and one hermit thrush. All this from a couple of miles from the parking lot, left on the Sierra Vista trail to the bridge, and back.
