Subject: [inlandcountybirds] Bendire’s Thrasher continues Davis Rd.
The Bendire’s Thrasher continues this morning at the end of Davis Rd. The bird seems to have a pattern. When I arrived the bird flew in from the east and landed in the olive trees along the road. It hung out here for a bit, going south then back north, and then it went down onto the ground beyond the fence west of the dirt road that parallels Davis and the olive trees. We watched it feed as it moved north, when it got to the end of the road it flew off to the east, down the dirt road that eventually leads to A pond. It fed on the ground in the weeds here, then went up into an elderberry bush that is growing up through the fence that parallels this dirt road, just past an upside down concrete culvert next to the fence. It spent a considerable amount of time here perching, preening, and feeding on the ground at its base. It was still there when we left. This bush and area around it is worth checking if it can’t be found along Davis Rd.
