Hi all, I just checked my photos. They are pretty bad, but they confirm to
me that it is indeed a Bendire's. The only other possibility would be the
much rarer Curve-billed. Coordinates are 33 53.239 -117 7.790. It was
near both a NMockingbird and a Rock Wren in the line of shrubs west of the
abandoned and destroyed horse ranch. A little skittish, but not too bad.
Small thrasher which I initially thought was Sage, but the breast was
cloudy brownish with blurry spots, not streaks. Yellow eye, short bill.
Overall greyish brown.
