Carol Braceland returned to help and enjoy (?) our rambling discussions of birds, TV services, cloud formations, and so much more!
Weather:
Breezy, damp & chilly all day. SW 6-10 mph. 100% cloudy to start, slowly decreased to about 30%.
Raptor Observations:
Slow start, peak flight 12-2pm. Nice Red-tailed flight. Surpassed Jacks MT American Kestrel season record and moved into 3rd for overall season total today. Is a second 10k season possible?? Happy to see 4 late Kestrels, 3 Harriers (2 male, 1 female/imm.). 1 imm. Bald Eagle with a damaged wing (~12:30) was migrating down ridge. Left wing noticably kinked upward mid-wing. Definitely hampered by the injury. Craig may have pictures. 1 red tagged BV spotted. Not counted: multiple BV, TV, RTHA, 1 imm. BAEA not migrating.
Non-raptor Observations:
3 Pileated WP, downy, flicker, Blue Jays, ravens (including Nemo), several small flocks of robins crossing the ridge, car.wren, goldfinches, junco, chickadees. No monarchs, no stinkbugs, and only 1 SLF noted!!
