Greetings to the Nebraska Birding Community! My name is Damon Klaphake, and my brother, Eric, and I are the sons of Clem and Bette Klaphake, fellow birders in Nebraska over the past 5 decades. Some of you may know that Clem passed away from complications related to Parkinson's disease in December 2022, and Bette passed away this past September from complications related to dementia/Alzheimer's disease. We are planning to have their ashes interred at the Omaha National Cemetery this upcoming Friday, November 8, at 1:30 pm, after which we have a small Celebration of Life reception planned from 3-5 pm at the Camp Brewster Lodge at Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue. We know how much the birding community meant to our parents, and you are welcome to join us! Thank you for all of the wonderful years and experiences you shared with Mom and Dad, and we look forward to seeing and meeting those of you who can make it!
