I answered Ken Hartman, without cc-ing the listserve. Although most people know about this location by now, info about the neighborhood area where the Crest Drive GRWA is found is as follows:
" It usually inhabits the spot at 1262 Crest Drive. The address numbers at the roadside at this spot are kind of faded now, but if you set your GPS to that address, you will find it. Pull off the road where you can find a spot, and make sure it is not blocking any driveway. The Grace's likes the tall pines in the yard at this place, and nearby pines and other trees too. Just park along the roadside, and watch those pines for movement and listen for the sharp chip that is different from the many yellow-rumped warblers and orange-crowned warblers. Do not go inside on their property, but stay along the road and be polite to neighbors. And if neighbors on foot or in a car stop, just tell them your are looking for the rare warbler that has returned here to this spot in fall for 7 years. (about 3 groups of people stopped and asked today, tho many other locals already know about the returning Grace's Warbler). They are almost always happy to learn about it. If you have Sibley's Guide on your phone, it might be worth while to listen to the call note before you go. "
Always a good idea to be on your best birding behavior when birding neighborhoods. Sue

Thanks for posting about the Grace’s. Are there any “rules of the road” for birding along that residential street besides the usual “don’t look in anybody’s windows”? Is there a portion of the road that it is normally found on?
Cheers,

At 8am this morning, the male Grace's Warbler, appeared in front of its old haunts near 1262 Crest Drive, Encinitas. It has returned for its 7th winter, and was first sighted in Dec 2018.
