Thank you so much,  Curtis, I think the person (perhaps Guy?)  who told me mentioned the LA area or thereabouts, but I could have misheard him.  And I was going to look it up when I got home.  I so appreciate the link to the info on the 1980s Montecito bird!  Sue

The long-staying bird was in Santa Barbara, Montecito to be specific, not Los Angeles County.  Go to the link below and then click on the "Table" tab at the top left to see the details...

I heard there was one Grace's found in LA that returned for nine years, but I do not have  the documentation. Am thinking this bird must be at least eight considering it was an adult male when found.  Hope it sticks around for the Christmas count again.  Sue Smith

Incredible. There is no longevity record listed for Grace's Warbler on the Bird Banding Lab's list here, but that it is up there with many other related species based on band recaptures.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
