Hi all, Please do not shoot the messenger.
I received a very accusatory email saying that I misled everyone about the location of the BTNW.
I received an email from Matt Brady yesterday asking for clarification and I double checked with my friend about the location and he clarified to me that it was on Foothill Road and it was at Arroyo Verde Park. Apparently I was told it was seen at some tams in Oxnard. Birds have a tendency to fly and there's also the possibility that there could be two of them.
Before I decided to post about the black-throated green warbler, I asked the advice of a very experienced birder, because I knew that my friend doesn't do eBird or groups and I thought it would be good for the birding community to know in case there were people interested in looking for it. However I was hesitant to post because I didn't see the bird personally.
But my expert friend gave me the advice that it is better to post it and let people know. It took me time to do the posting and I don't appreciate it when I'm accused of misleading people. Next time I will not post unless I have seen the bird personally.
Regards, Tina Tan Fillmore
