Visitors: There were 30 visitors to the north lookout today.
Weather: Visibility was impacted by a wildfire along the Kittatiny ridge east of the watch location. The northern valley had visibility at the start of the count of 30 miles but was reduced to 5 miles by the end of the count. The southern valley had 10 miles visibility to begin the count that eroded to less than 2 miles, but rebounded to 20 miles by the end of the count. Wind was NNW(8)/ENE(6)/NNW(2)/ESE(1)/SE(3). Temperatures ranged from 33-58F. Cloud cover was 0-10%, excluding the impact of the smoke from the wildfire.
Raptor Observations: Bald Eagle(2): 0922a, 1251i
Up ridge Bald Eagles(2):1130a, 1545i
Many of the raptors were seen distantly in the north valley.
Non-raptor Observations: Other species observed: Raven (7), Double-crested Cormorant (1), Robin(30), Dark-eyed Junco (20), Purple Finch (5), American Goldfinch (6), Canada Goose (24), Red-winged Blackbird (60),Grackle (50), Pileated Woodpecker (1), Eastern Bluebird (4), Pine Siskin (1), American Crow (4)
