I was delighted to see my first Purple Finch of the season at my feeder yesterday afternoon. My birding friend who lives on the Kitatinny Ridge along the Delaware River in NJ says that large numbers of Purple Finches and Pine Siskins have been traveling along the ridge lately and to be prepared to see them at our feeders soon.
