Really difficult to see in the mist when resting on the beach, but eventually took to the water where it was easier to scope."

- Comments: "I’m not a hundred-percent certain. Overall size fits, medium bill length fits (dark coloration and thickness). Top half of head is dark. Lacks dark on back of neck. Lacks white patches. Has a white underside. Isn’t a western or clark’s grebe (bill too short and thick). Photos."

Plain gray / white, unstreaked breast and belly. Photos to be submitted soonish."

Larger and paler overall than nearby savanna’s with minimal streaking and massive, pinkish bill. Thought there may have been second bird, but couldn’t confirm. Rare, but regular here in winter."
