Observation start time: 09:00:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 6 hours
Official Counter: John Mercer
Observers: Bob Kelly
Weather: The best description for today's weather is variable. The day started cooler than it should have felt, due to rain ending around 10, wind picking up and heavy cloud cover. The clouds slowly moved out, then in, then out and eventually it got warm, but still windy, unfortunately, WSW which kept the count down.
Raptor Observations: Locals were Turkey and Black Vulture, Red-tailed and Cooper's Hawks and a Merlin that came out of nowhere and buzzed a local Coopers. Wind even kept local sightings low.
Non-raptor Observations: Well over 300 Robins commuting from east to west.
Predictions: Tomorrow should be much cooler, starting around 50 but barely making 60 degrees. Winds should be in the 7 to 10 mph range and mostly from the NNW, so possibly more favorable than today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by John Mercer (<mercer1135...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: www.rtphawkwatch.org
