Subject: [Maine-birds] Hybrid duck in Sagadahoc County
Good Afternoon Maine Birders,

I pulled into the parking lot at the Taste of Maine restaurant in Woolwich
an hour ago for a quick scan of Pleasant Cove of the Sasanoa River. The
tide was still fairly high but falling. Close to shore was an impressive
concentration of dabblers, primarily Green-winged Teal (~300!). Among them
was a drake oddity, which to my eye fit nicely as a Northern Pintail and
American Wigeon hybrid -- neat looking bird. I seem to recall a hybrid here
in the past so perhaps this is a returning bird.

I took some distant images, which I will eventually upload to eBird.

Best,
Eric
