Subject: [MBBIRDS] Possible hybrid flicker at Oakwood Cemetery
Hello, birders!

Not sure if this is of interest to any of you, but I saw what may have been
a female hybrid Yellow-Shafted × Red-shafted NORTHERN FLICKER this
afternoon at Oakwood Cemetery. It had a dark "mustache" and no red on the
nape of the neck, as well as red shafts to the tail and wing feathers. I
posted some atrocious photos taken with my phone through my binoculars on
iNaturalist, available here:
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/249845386. Please let me know what
you think! Good birding, and I hope you all are enjoying the influx of
wintering species to the area as much as I am!

Regards,

Phoebe Barnes
