Hi Everyone!
Today I checked out a couple of the new trails at Bear Creek Redwoods (Radio Hill Trail, Salamander Springs Trail). Best bird was a *Pileated Woodpecker *near trail junction 17. The pond didn't have any Hooded Mergansers. I hope they are on the way. Besides the Pileated Woodpecker, there were lots of *Townsend's and Yellow-rumped Warblers*, some *Pygmy Nuthatches*, lots of *Hermit Thrush* and *Chestnut-backed Chickadees, *and a couple of *Brown Creepers* (on the Upper Pete Siemons trail). I also heard a *Varied Thrush* but was unable to find it.
