Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Ani: negative so far
No further signs of the Groove billed Ani at the Aviara Resort in Carlsbad Since the original sighting by Jane and her original one or two quick photos. At least 20 people looking. She saw it fly down a short distance on the same line of trees and brush to the southwest and it was hoped that it's still in that line, but it cannot be found as of 1:45 p.m.. If it goes farther afield from that one line then it's just habitat everywhere else in all directions and would probably be hopeless. If not seen this afternoon, it would definitely be worth trying here in the morning when it's cool and concentrate on sunny spots.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
