Not much around but too nice a day not to wander around for a short time. Found one male & 2 female Purple Finches which were was nice & a couple House Finches were feeding on the same berries so nice comparison. Lots of robins & waxwings as well. At least 2 Hermit Thrushes calling back & forth. Only sparrows were numerous White-throateds, one Swamp & a couple Song Sparrows that were singing. A kettle of mostly Black Vultures was between the Reserve & campus--at least 10 Blacks with a couple Turkey Vultures. A Pileated WP was calling & flying about; heard a Hairy & saw a couple Downies, flickers & Red-bellieds. Peggy WangGranville
