Lucy's Warbler (Leiothlypis luciae) (1)
- Reported Oct 26, 2024 16:24 by Linus Blomqvist
- Santa Cruz Island--Scorpion Anchorage and Beach Area, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.5555481&<ll...>,-119.5555481 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S200712473 - Media: 8 Photos
- Comments: "From the boat while docked at Scorpion anchorage, I noticed a small passerine flitting about on the shore. Could not determine ID with binoculars alone but noticed small size and plan gray bird with no obvious plumage features. Took some photos, which are of poor quality in part because of distance and in part because I still had my pelagic settings with high ISO etc. What I see in the photos is:
- Petite warbler by size and structure
- Featureless plumage, seemingly plain gray. No obvious hood.
- Faint eyering
- Rusty rump obvious especially in photo with spread wings
- Hint of rusty cap in several photos
- Dark eye that contrasts with plain face"
