They're still breeding as far south as the Catskills in southern New York,
I believe. I heard one this summer but it was at the top of a mountain
during a long-lasting thunderstorm so never got a look, but there were
regular reports at the highest mountain tops there. Specifically Slide
Mountain and I think a few others?
