W/ reference to Tyler's query I'm sure some active bander, Foreman's Creek/Branch, whatever it is called? Could answer this right off. Been ages since I banded but w/ the wing chord below a certain measure can safely say Bicknell's, above GCTH. The photos don't show any very pale flecks on the upperwing indicating, I think it's an adult. Dead bird's measures may have shrunk a little. Don't remember if one measures a flattened wing chord or a natural one. ? Using those measures, that I don't remember what they are ... In my banding years I was able to record for certain both Bicknell's & GCTH for our MD property list and at my one year banding station at Meekins Neck just N. of Hooper's I. Don't Bicknell's have a paler lower mandible than GCTH? This one looks pretty pale. Esp. In spring I think Bicknells have a migration route close to the coast. The spring banding in the VA Beach area by CVWO/KESTREL captured some Bicknell's. I guess Bicknell's is in decline or at least breeding farther north. I don't think the species breeds anymore at Mt. Greylock, Mass. ? - Harry Armistead.
