Quite frosty this morning but still a gorgeous morning to be out.
I saw Purple Finches again today, this time 2 males & at least 1 female. They move around so much, it’s hard to get an exact count. I’m presuming it’s the same group but really don’t know. It’s a treat for me as I’ve only seen Purple Finches once before at Denison & that was a few years ago—just one sighting of a pair.
They are feeding on the plentiful berries along with hermit thrushes, waxwings, house finches, robins and white-throated sparrows. There was also a mockingbird feeding on berries in another area; again, not a bird that has been common at Denison.
O/w, not many birds around.
