Subject: [sbcobirding] Franceschi Park - Blackburnian Warbler
Hi all,

This morning I birded Franceschi Park for a few hours, mostly focusing on
the lerpy red gum eucalyptus. There are a lot of warblers in them right
now, including one that I saw briefly at the start of the walk and thought
looked interesting. I got a few very terrible photos but the bird flew
after just a few seconds and I wasn't able to relocate it in the next
several hours. At the time I only really saw that it had a yellowish cast
and strong wing bars.

On getting home and looking at the photos on a computer, I felt they
actually looked best for Blackburnian Warbler. I got some corroborating
second opinions (thanks!) and have the photos now on eBird.

If anyone tries to look for it, keep in mind there are a lot of other red
gums beyond the few at the parking area. Warblers were moving around a lot
this morning. The parking lot is not obvious from Google Maps but if you
follow the directions it gives it will bring you right to the park
entrance.

Best,
