Forgot to mention that we had an amazing evening at Berkshire Bird Observatory on Thursday 24 th. 10 club members carpooled from my house and arrived shortly after sundown We waited about 40 minutes as the banding team set up, ran errands, and most importantly, set up the spooky jack-o-lanterns (ambiance is key).
The first net run at 8:30 yielded 3 first year females. The second run at 9:00 yielded an amazing 6 birds including a male, 4 hatch year females, and a huge 2nd year female.
