Yesterday we had the nuthatch trifecta. Brown-headed is actually our most common nuthatch but yesterday we had a red-breasted and a white-breasted, too.
I know that brown-headed will not likely occur in Pennsylvania but I do assume that the red-breasted probably passed through PA to get here. Keep your eyes and ears open.
After seeing the red-breasted I was looking for a bookie to take a bet on all three but came up short. Too bad, I might have gotten rich - the only way I can imagine getting rich by bird watching. It usually costs me money to go birding.
