A fun day on the ridge with just enough raptors to keep things
interesting throughout the day.Alot of birds were high and zipping right
along
in the strong gusty winds but we did have some nice looks and close
birds as well.A few Merlins gave us nice looks as they zipped past at high
speed.
The immature Golden Eagle that was sparring with an adult Bald Eagle gave
us a thrill as we were really hoping for a Golden today. But the Harriers
stole
the show today. Our first 4 harriers were all Grey Ghosts ! As a matter of
fact,
our Bird of the Day selection goes to the Grey Ghost that passed by the
watch
hugging the ridge, below eye level on the river side giving us a
tremendous
topside view of this gorgeous raptor. So close.. no binoculars required !!

Non-raptor Observations:
Ravens- 7
Bluejays
Canada geese
Red-bellied Woodpecker
