After a dreary, drizzly day, we decided to go to the mouth of the Bluestone River in Bluestone S.P. It was still cloudy when we arrived at 3:30 but became sunny as we left at 4:30. The birds became active - We ended the hour with 4 Canada geese, 8 common mergansers, a belted kingfisher, 2 crows & 2 ravens and 2 red- tailed hawks. Then we counted 8 turkey vultures and 8 bald eagles over Bluestone Lake, turned around and saw 2 more bald eagles, 10 black vultures and another 53 turkey vultures over the Bluestone River. A fine end to the day! Jim & Judy Phillips Summers County Pipestem, WV
