Morning, all.
Check out this video of Charles, the male Great Horned Owl I study in Forest Park in St. Louis, grooming and eating a feather last night just after sunset! He does extensive and intensive talon grooming and cleaning and then while grooming his upper chest, a small feather comes loose and he eats it! I have only seen feather eating a few times in my 18 years of studying him, his mates and their offspring. This may be the best 2 minutes you will spend today. Enjoy and thank you! 🙂
