Vermilion Flycatcher (Pyrocephalus rubinus) (1)

- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.4259048&<ll...>,-120.4259048 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S200224510 - Media: 1 Photo
- Comments: "Continuing imm male. Looked for the others recently reported here, but I was unable to locate them. This bird was conspicuous, and hawking insects above the trees rather than perching low on the headstones which is typical."
Pacific Wren (Troglodytes pacificus) (1)
- Reported Oct 25, 2024 11:35 by Todd Easterla
- Santa Cruz Island--Prisoners Harbor, Santa Barbara, California

Saw the bird briefly in shaded area and really could only see the outline of the bird. Small very short-tailed wren."
Winter Wren (Troglodytes hiemalis) (1)
- Reported Oct 25, 2024 11:35 by Todd Easterla
- Santa Cruz Island--Prisoners Harbor, Santa Barbara, California

- Comments: "Calling giving sweet jib-jib nasally calls and rapid sweeter calls as well. This bird started calling while I was pishing and I didn't think to record it until it had quieted down and moved further away. No photos but could see it was more spotted dorsally in scaps, coverts, pale whitish secondaries, paler throat and upper breast, more spotting all over bird than Pacific. A Pacific was also calling at the same location giving drier calls."
Clay-colored Sparrow (Spizella pallida) (1)
- Reported Oct 25, 2024 08:35 by Eunice Schroeder

- Comments: "Continuing, reported yesterday by Noah Arthur. Seen on far west side of the campground (34.5118007, -120.5010352) foraging on the ground with a flock of WCSP and SOSP. The first thing I noticed was its smaller size compared to the other two species. Clean gray nape, clean whitish throat, clean whitish-gray breast and belly, buffy flanks and breastband, pale malar, dark lateral throat stripe, light-brown auriculars with darker smudgy outline, pale supercilium, long tail. Photos."
Palm Warbler (Western) (Setophaga palmarum palmarum) (1)
- Reported Oct 25, 2024 17:41 by Toby Fowler
- Storke Field, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8569974&<ll...>,-119.8569974 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S200257631 - Comments: "Lovely surprise. Came hoping for a pipit and got another tail-wagger instead! Brown warbler with a noticeable eyebrow, streaking on the breast, and yellow at the rear. I'll check my photos, but it seemed there was a bit of a red cap still. Feeding among a small YRWA flock on the field.
Always kept some distance from me, until the end when it stayed still for awhile, maybe because it clocked me watching (sorry!), allowing for some hopefully good pictures. Turned around to leave for the night and it was gone.
I maybe had seen one at the beginning of the month across the streer but I couldn't confirm it, so this is a lovely way to see a lifer :)"
