Something has changed in ebird and I'm not sure what. I'm noticing that the American Herring Gull is showing up as a new addition to my listings. Has it been renamed and the old name removed from the sightings list? If so does that mean for every bird that is renamed we will have to go find it again?
The numbers are not agreeing in several places and usually I can reconcile the difference with a new sighting whether it be a Lifer or Rarity in need of the reviewers confirmation. But the AHGU caught my attention as I have seen Herring Gulls for years and it shouldn't be a new bird for me.
Any thoughts or inside info? Not sure who I should address this to.
