Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Iain MacLeod, Tom Delaney

Observers: Caroline Fegley, Chuck Carlson, Janet Delaney,
Nate Marchessault, Tom Delaney

Visitors:
85. We had more dogs than raptors.

Weather:
A beautiful day, but with some morning smog hanging over the hills. A cool
stiff breeze from the West kept temps much cooler than the base of the
mountain.

Raptor Observations:
The raptors took the morning off. We did not see a single raptor (even
local red-tails or TVs) make an appearance until late morning. The
afternoon wasn't much better. Our expectations of a good day were quashed.
The highlight was a juvenile Goshawk which played tag with the Ravens right
overhead. It headed north, so was not added to the migration list. Later, a
juvenile Goshawk was again strafing the Ravens. Nate and I both agreed that
this second was likely a different bird as the first was as big as the
Ravens while the second seemed smaller than the Ravens.

Non-raptor Observations:
The usual mix of passing songbirds including a few fly by Siskins, Purple
Finch (8), Yellow-rumped Warbler, Hairy and Downy Woodpecker, Tufted
Titmouse, juncos and chickadees.

Predictions:
We need a weather pattern change to kick start a few birds. More blue
skies.
