Official Counter: Craig Jackson
Observers: Bill Shapiro, Darren Josey, Jim Springer, Kirk Zmijewski, Plamen Krastev
Visitors: Many hikers asked what we were doing, but none gave their names. Sara Cos, a friend of Bill Shapiro, joined us to look for hawks
Weather: Light to moderate winds from the west changed first to WNW and then became variable switching back-and-forth from WNW to WSW with maximum gusts of 12 km/hr. Temperature went from 13-16° C; Cloud cover went from 5-50% throughout the watch as scattered cirrus clouds moved in from the northwest
Raptor Observations: Small movement of raptors with TV representing half of the flight Non-migratin raptors -- 1 adult BE, 1 CH, and at least 3 RT
Non-raptor Observations: Birds -- 1 DC Cormorant and 3 DE Junco Dragonflies -- 4 Green Darners
Predictions: Tomorrow Monday should have similar strong winds from the west in the late morning and afternoon. Wednesday will have strong SSW winds and Thursday looks to be the best day of all with strong NW winds. I will probably not be able to be on site on Monday until late morning at the earliest, and Thursday have a mid-day doctor's appointment, so we only be able to be on site in the late afternoon, if at all. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Craig Jackson (<crleja1949...>)
