Subject: [NHBirds] Davis Finch
Thanks to Steve and others who wrote about Davis. Hundreds of my PEA Ornithology students visited Davis at his home annually in E. Kingston since 1975 and have continued to visit with Chris Matlack’s classes. Those early were in awe of the meat pile! Davis always welcomed and shared his incredible knowledge and passion for birds, and they were in awe of his ability to mimic vocalizations. Many tried to do the same and Davis smiled as they tried and always encouraged them to keep trying. I continued to learn from him during our visits and when we went together to look for the Prothonotary Warbler and Yellow-throated Warbler in Exeter.

Our conversations always ended with “Give my best to Peg.” Our best to you, Davis.
