Subject: [ia-bird] Double sighting in Des Moines
This evening (10/19) I saw 2 Merlins at the same time in Glendale Cemetery
at 6:30 p.m., one in a black locust in Block H and another atop the tallest
spruce in Block 32B. At 6:32, the one in the locust flew to Block 32 and
chased the other Merlin off its perch in the spruce. Both birds flew in a
wide arc around the SW part of the cemetery, then flew quite a distance to
the WSW. One returned to the locust in Block H at 6:34 and remained until
6:54 as it got darker. I did not see the second Merlin again.
