Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Scott's Oriole no, cool warbler maybe? Florida Canyon

No luck on the oriole, I got here minutes after Nathan reported it flying away, but at 6:30ish I had an interesting warbler in this bush: 32.7349105, -117.1405777

I only got a brief flash in the failing light, but it was yellow fronted with a streaky breast. How yellow? How streaky? I don't have a great idea. My gut said female-type Blackburnian, but this time of year there are a number of warblers that look similar, and I'm not good at telling them apart. If anyone comes out to chase the oriole tomorrow morning, keep an eye out for this mystery bird, maybe it'll stick around.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
