Observation start time: 10:00:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 5 hours
Official Counter: Rob Woodward
Observers:
Visitors: 38, including some who could talk raptors a little bit.
Weather: Much better! A cloudless sky with favorable light NE winds turning S at 12:15 then even worse SW by 1:30; mild temperatures of low 40's to low 50's.
Raptor Observations: I see my cross-state rival, Pack Monadnock, bettered Alton Bay again in the hawk count. No wonder, you should see what they have down there, you should see all this stuff. Paid professional staff that probably get annual leave, a 401K, and workers' comp. A stadium-class electronic scoreboard, a battery-powered owl-on-a-stick, valet parking, stuffed chairs, and a three-page cocktail menu. That's not a hawk watch. It's a health spa.
Non-raptor Observations: The first Pine Siskins of the season, 23 Yellow-rumped Warblers, a flock of bluebirds and 1 flock of migrating Canada Geese.
Predictions: Another fine day coming up tomorrow with warmer tempeatures and some N winds, look for some Turkey Vulture movement. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Rob Woodward (<toucanrob...>)
