- Comments: "Found yesterday by Nick Lethaby and refound this morning by Andy McGrath, at around 9:30, just as I was arriving. A group of us got good but distant and backlit views of the bird as it sat stationary in a river redgum for several minutes. It then flew south to the redgums at the southern edge of the park, nearer San Rossano Drive, and became more active, but we got several good views. We then lost it as it flew east. Tom Turner, who showed up after the bird flew, then refound it about 100 yards farther east, where a group of later arrivers got very good views at the bird in a Tasmanian bluegum.

The bird was generally very red, with the brightest areas being the throat, breast, and under tail coverts. It was browner above, on the auriculars, and on the underside of the tail. The wings were brown with red edges, giving them an appearance of a more subdued red color when seen from a distance. The brown face contrasted with the red on the throat and above the eye/on the cap. The bill was entirely dark gray and small than that of a Summer Tanager. One odd feature was that the single green outer right retrix that appeared to be growing in, as the feather was short and looked pretty fresh. I was not sure what to make of this."

- Comments: "Continuing bird. Originally found by Peter Schneekloth earlier this morning. Bunting-sized bird that was foraging on dirt patches around the parking lot/campground. As the photo shows it had a thick bill and was overall green colored without any distinct markings, thus ruling out any kind of warbler or other bunting. The photo also shows a yellow gape, indicating that this is a first year bird."
