Observation start time: 08:15:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 5.75 hours
Official Counter: Craig Jackson
Observers: Weather: Relatively strong (4) NW winds with gusts up to 23 km/hr throughout the watch, although the gusts of wind became less frequent in the afternoon; Temperature went from 7-12° C; Cloud cover began with very few scattered cumulus clouds in the west, but soon cirro-cumulus clouds seemed to be racing across the sky form the northwest to the southeast. Toward the end of the watch the cirro-cumulus clouds were moving across the sky at a much slower pace
Raptor Observations: Smaller flight than I expected given the favorable winds, consisted solely of accipiters and falcons Non-migrating raptors -- At least one TV, a CH harassing a migrating CH, and at least two RT, including at least one immature
Non-raptor Observations:
Predictions: Continued winds from the WNW may bring migrants, but Saturday the winds will shift toward the NW with the strongest winds at 11 AM and decreasing in strength through the afternoon. I will not be on site Friday due to medical appointments, and hope that somebody else will cover for me. Saturday I will be on site and hope that others will join me on what may be a good day for migrating hawks ======================================================================== Report submitted by Craig Jackson (<crleja1949...>)
