Observation start time: 08:00:00 Observation end time: 16:00:00 Total observation time: 8 hours
Official Counter: Craig Jackson
Observers: Bill Shapiro, Jack Miano, John Byers
Weather: Moderate to strong (3-4) WNW-N winds throughout day; Temperature went from 9-14° C; Cloud cover began with 3% on the eastern horizon, then to 5% on the southeast to southern horizon; near the end of the watch cumulus clouds started forming on the western horizon such that about 20% of the sky was covered. Throughout the day there was mostly blue sky, which made finding and staying on birds difficult
Raptor Observations: Small movement -- of nine migrants five were adult Bald Eagles Non-migrating -- one OS, one adult BE, one CH, and at least three RT
Predictions: Winds tomorrow will be from the west becoming stronger in the afternoon. Best winds for migrating hawks will occur on Thursday when the winds will be NW all day long and very strong in the afternoon. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Craig Jackson (<crleja1949...>)
