Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Franklin's Gull and two golden plovers at saltworks
Around 10:45 a.m. we had a young Franklin's Gull swimming around Pond 22 right off the end of 13th Street at the Salt Works. It kept getting up and flying and moving a couple hundred feet and landing and kept repeating that so it looked a bit unsettled and then while I was on the phone telling a couple people about it, we lost track of it and it now appears to be gone. Whether it's just moved to another salt works pond and it'll stay in the area for a while and come back or it's gone forever is anyone's guess. And on stint Island on Pond 23 at the end of 10th there are two Pacific Golden-Plovers side by side.
In the TRV there was an unchaseable Bobolink and a Yellow-headed blackbird, plus one Northern Waterthrush, at least, continues at the Sunset pond west of Saturn.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
