Weather:
Nearly cloudless, but hazy, skies all day. Wind light and variable in
the
morning, becoming stronger (max. 9 mph) and mostly SW in the afternoon.
Temperature 57-67 F.

Raptor Observations:
Fickle winds foster feeble flights: nine migrants. The Turkey Vultures
reverted to dawdling today. Not counted as migrants: Black Vultures 4,
Turkey Vultures (8 maximum at one time), adult Bald Eagle, Cooper's
Hawk,
Red-shouldered Hawks 2 (adult and immature), Red-tailed Hawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
Migrant Blue Jays were numerous (144) today. Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Northern Flicker, Blue-headed Vireo (a beautiful bird, in fresh, bright
plumage), Black-capped Chickadees 2, Tufted Titmouse, Ruby-crowned
Kinglets
2 (one flashed his ruby crown at me), White-breasted Nuthatch, Eastern
Bluebird, Purple Finch, American Goldfinches 2, Palm Warblers 2,
Yellow-rumped Warblers 17.
