Subject: [ia-bird] Orange-crowned Warbler morning at Ledges SP
Not a large variety of birds on my trail walk this morning, but there was a
surprise in brush at the edge of Lost Lake. Right near the lakeside picnic
table were at least *6 Orange-crowned Warblers* (maybe more) flitting
around low in the brush--the most OCWAs I've ever seen at one spot. There
were also several *Yellow-rumped Warblers* higher in the nearby trees
(hanging out with 2 *Tufted Titmice*), plus a flock of *White-throated
Sparrows* skittering back and forth across the trail. Along with the WTSPs
was a single* Dark-eyed Junco*, my first of the season. It looks like we
are definitely getting late into passerine migration.
