Subject: [sbcobirding] Greater Scaup, Red Knot, etc
This afternoon I checked Sands Beach and the COPR dune pond. The highlight
was a very early male Greater Scaup at the dune pond, with a few other
ducks. Early October is early for either Scaup species, particularly
Greater. With the female Toby had at the beach park two days ago, it’s
interesting to see several birds showing up early this fall.

Small-medium shorebird numbers were pretty nice at the beach, but the
golden plovers were not to be seen and the best I had were one Red Knot and
my FOS Dunlin for the south coast.
