American Golden-Plover (Pluvialis dominica) (1)
- Reported Sep 27, 2024 12:12 by Max Laubstein
- Coal Oil Point, Devereux Beach, Sands Beach, and bluff trails, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8783064&<ll...>,-119.8783064 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S196665218 - Media: 2 Photos
- Comments: "Continuing near (34.4141753, -119.8850900). Marginally smaller than black bellieds, with no white rump or black axillaries in flight. Long primaries projecting past the tertials a length about as long as the tertials themselves. Difficult to see the tail well, but seemed to project about 2/3 of the way between the tips of the primaries and the tertials. Nice golden dotting on the back, and a relatively contrasty white supercilium. Heard it call twice in flight, a higher pitched “peep”. Splendid."
