Visitors: 65, 49 of which were young students visiting the lookout. (For those looking for the full report from Sunday Sept 29th that count will be posted in full tomorrow evening. It was a good morning). In fact it has been a great season for visitation and hawkwatching at Rocky Ridge.
Weather: Winds were light from the southwest. The temperature warmed to 29 C by the end of the count. Cloud cover at the beginning broke up by the afternoon.
Raptor Observations: Small movement of Sharp-shinned Hawks today and a Peregrine Falcon was recorded (11:22 EST). There was also a single Osprey and a pair of Broad-winged Hawks tallied. An American Kestrel was viewed but deemed non-migrating based on direction. Local Red-tailed Hawks were up in the air as well.
