Texbirders,

it appears that the information posted below is NOT correct. Read up on it here: https://tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/hunt/public/annual_public_hunting/

The Texas Resident Hunting License ($7 for folks over 65) does NOT include the privilege to hunt, fish or pursue other recreational activities IN WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREAS. For that you need the $48 Annual Public Hunting Permit. If you do not want to hunt in the WMAs but still want to access them for birding, photography or other recreational activities you can just buy the Limited Public Use Permit for $12. If you want to fish in WMAs you need a valid fishing license plus the Limited Public Use Permit.

But remember, this is the general rule and individual WMAs might have exceptions regarding access and permits.
