- Checklist: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S58089709
- Media: 1 Audio
- Comments: "(Rare) Reported recently and know consistent location for
black-caps in riparian cottonwoods and alders.

Both seen and heard, recorded. Came in closely with pishing - seen well and
from many angles as close as a few feet overhead. Solid cap with no trace
of molting white (not a summer molting mountain chickadee - aware of and
cautious for the easy misidentification). Lightly buffy sides and white
striping on primaries when wings are folded.

Voice a cleaner, sweeter tone with chickadee-dee-dee phrases without
squeakiness like a mountain.

Possibly, even likely two birds as I heard a few likely chickadee notes
nearby while watching this reported bird."
