Subject: Red Slough Bird Survey - June 6


It was overcast and mild turning partly cloudy and hot on the bird survey
today. 67 species were found. The heronry on Pintail Lake has almost
doubled in size in the last two weeks. Lots of Little-blue Herons and some
Snowy Egrets nesting now. I even found a Black-crowned Night-Heron roosting
in one of the trees in the heronry but no sign of it nesting. Lots of young
in the Anhinga and cormorant nests. Here is my list for today:
