Subject: [wisb] MKE - Whitnall Park 27/24 warbler species 5/18-5/19
Good evening,
The last two days have been extremely good at Whitnall Park, more
specifically Wehr Nature Center. Yesterday, I had 27 warbler species and
today I had 24, although I missed on two, so really 26 were seen today. The
majority of the action is along the creek from waterfall to the bridge on
the road. Rubber, knee high boots is a must to navigate the 4" of mud and
up to 12" of standing water. It's worth it though, as most warblers feed
right on the ground and if you stay still, they will come within a foot of
you. Pretty incredible seeing these tiny birds sit a foot from your face,
while searching for the next flying bug. It may still be good there
tomorrow. Good luck!

Here are the warblers seen on 5/18
2 Ovenbird
1 Louisiana Waterthrush
